Page
Layout
Margins (left, right, top and bottom) should be 2.5 cm and line spacing
should be set at one.
Text
All the text (except where indicated) should be in Times/Times New Roman
11. Please use a single spacing between sentences (ie. conference.
The), a double space is NOT needed. Please do NOT indent
paragraphs or place a blank line between them ie.
This is a really short paragraph. There are only a couple of lines,
which incidentally should be considered the minimum for a paragraph.
This is the start of the next paragraph ….
Instead, the template provided uses the automatic ability of WORD to add
a space at the end of a paragraph.
Avoid underlining, because this crosses through the lower parts
of the letters such as q, p, g (descenders). Use
italics
or
bold
instead. If you want to underline, make sure you don’t cross through
letters with descenders. Species names must always be formatted
differently to the surrounding text, preferably using italics ie. the
pit lake was colonised by Daphnia
carinata. The genus name should be written in full, the first time
the species is mentioned, then it can be abbreviated to a letter ie. In
Lake Kepwari, the dominant species is
D. carinata.
Abbreviations must be written out in full (no matter how common you
think they may be) the first time they appear and if they are used to
start a sentence ie. The Department of Water (DOW) ….
All values reported in the paper should be in SI units (metric). Please
place a space between the number and the unit ie. 100
km, 10 oC.
The text of the paper should be arranged in logical order as regards to
its extent and concept. All figures and tables must be placed directly
in the text (instead of using copy and paste, you should use copy –
paste special extended WMF).
